For those of you that might not know, 2 out of my 3 sons are engaged and getting married within a year. My middle son, Nathan, is getting married this upcoming weekend. (My oldest, is getting married next May.)
Of course, a hurricane would have to “pop up” out of nowhere and threaten our wedding, which is outdoors! Please say a little prayer the hurricane blows through quickly and doesn’t do much damage and we have a sunny day on Saturday.
Due to the wedding, I am trying to help with preparations so Mr. Baccomo and Mr. Matthews will be covering classes this week and part of next. Please show them every courtesy you would me and have a great week of training.
Right now, the weather forecast is predicting the hurricane will hit Columbia as a tropical storm on Thursday. Please be on the “look out” for class notification if the weather is bad.
Now that we have started a new cycle, please focus on earning 2 tips or more this month. I have asked our instructors to leave 5-10 minutes at the end of class and tip any students that are ready.
Our next Saturday bonus class is scheduled for this Saturday, October 13th and October 27th. This class is the perfect opportunity to get some extra training in, make up a missed class and work on earning a belt tip.
The class is FREE, however, we do ask that you register ahead of time so we have an idea of the student count. Please use the link below to register: Saturday Bonus Class
Please register ONE student at a time, so we can get an accurate student count.
COBRA Active Shooter Seminar
SKS is hosting another active shooter seminar for the general public on Thursday, October 25th at 7:30pm. If you would like to attend, you can register here: Active Shooter Seminar
During this seminar, we will teach you a 15 point plan to survive and engage an active shooter. I don’t say this often, but this is a seminar that could truly help save lives!
Did you know that October is National Bully Awareness month? Sadly, approximately 30% of children will be bullied at least once by the time they graduate high school. Check out this blog post I did that talks about “How To Avoid Being A Victim Of Bullying”
Sadly, South Carolina is ranked 6th in the nation for domestic violence. What this means is a female is much more likely to be assaulted by someone they know versus a total stranger. I posted a great article from Sister Care that is worth a read. Check it out here: October Is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Did you know there is a simple way to refer new students to SKS?
It’s available right on the SKS app on your phone.
Referrals are the “lifeline” of martial arts schools. It’s really the only way our school can grow. Please take a moment and think about who might benefit from training with SKS.
I could use your help! This time of year, we lose students to the new school year, students moving away, pursuing new sports, etc.
Any referral you make is welcome to a free class.
If they sign up, you will receive a $25 kickback card that you can apply to your next belt graduation fee.
Thank you for all you do! Your support, dedication and loyalty to SKS is truly heartwarming! Don’t forget to say a prayer for good weather!
