One Simple Way to Be Your Best
“Successful people are invariably punctual and dependable. People can rely on them.
Successful people keep their commitments.” – Brian Tracy, bestselling author and motivational
Being on time helps assure that you are going to be at your best. Have you ever found yourself running late when you have somewhere to be?
Let’s say you have give a speech or presentation first thing in the morning tomorrow but you don’t plan accordingly when it comes to getting there on time. You wake up late, rush around like a mad person, gather what you need to take with and literally run right out the door. You jump in the car, screech out of the driveway, speed like a maniac and weave in and out of the lanes while looking for cops, complaining about every driver and red light that gets in your way. You finally arrive. Your heart is pounding, your body’s shaking and your energy is zapped from all the adrenaline and stress.
Do you think you are just going to be able to flip a switch and all that will go away?
Do you think you’ll be in the proper state of mind to give your best?
Of course not.
What if you left in plenty of time so you were actually able to show up early enough that you could have time to collect your thoughts, review your notes and put your game face on? You’d be cool, calm and collected. You’d be able to think clearly and perform with confidence. As a result you would be able to be your absolute best.
Class Discussion Questions:
• Why is it important to be on time?
• What can you do to make sure you are where you need to be, when you need to be there?
