Every 3 months, SKS hosts a belt graduation for students who have met the requirements of their next belt. Our graduations are meant to be a family fun event, where parents or other family members can participate in the ceremony and tie the new belt rank around the waist of their child.
After the belt ceremony, we announce the awards for the quarter, such as A/B honor roll, straight A’s report card, student of the month, etc.
We have been asked by parents, what’s the best way to celebrate graduation and you will find my answers below:
8 Ways To Make Graduation Special
All performances by students should receive the loudest and craziest cheers. They have worked hard and this is a magical moment for them.
Think back to the first time your child set foot in our school and focus on the positive development your child has gone through since then.
SMILE. It’s contagious and it does wonders for the soul.
Be grateful for the child that you bought into the world.
Today’s a day to applaud their self – discipline (sticking to karate), not a day to compare them to anyone else.
When your child looks over to you during graduation, give them a “thumbs up”, and a big smile.
Congratulate yourself as a parent for making the right decision to give your child the gift of karate.
Make sure you tell your child how proud you are of them after the ceremonies
Most often, a child’s success if a direct reflection of good parenting and we most humbly bow to our parents and would like to congratulate YOU for being so awesome!
